Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

The easiest way to begin is to register for a tour or contact SRTDI’s admissions team. We’ll help you understand the available programs and the steps required to apply.

Do I need previous truck-driving experience?

Previous commercial driving experience is not necessarily required for students entering entry-level training. Training is designed to help students develop the knowledge and practical skills needed throughout the program.

Speak with Admissions about the requirements for the specific program you’re interested in.

What CDL programs does SRTDI offer?

SRTDI offers Class A manual and automatic training as well as Class B manual and automatic training options. Availability and scheduling may vary by program.

Are weekend classes available?

Weekend training is available for certain Class B programs. Contact Admissions for the current schedule and availability.

How long does CDL training take?

The length of training depends on the program and attendance schedule. SRTDI currently offers approximately 12-week full-time and 24-week part-time completion options, subject to program requirements.

How much does CDL training cost?

Tuition and other costs can vary by program. Contact Admissions for current tuition information and available financing or funding resources.

Do you offer financial assistance?

SRTDI can help students explore available financing, workforce-development resources, veteran benefits, and other potential funding opportunities when applicable. Eligibility depends on the specific program and funding source.

Do you work with veterans?

Yes. SRTDI provides information and resources for veterans and transitioning service members interested in pursuing transportation careers. Contact Admissions to learn more about available opportunities and applicable benefits.

Can I visit the school before enrolling?

Yes—and we encourage you to do so.

A school visit gives you an opportunity to meet the team, see the training environment, ask questions, and learn more before making your enrollment decision.

What documents will I need?

Required documentation depends on your program and circumstances. Admissions will provide you with a checklist of the documents needed to complete your enrollment.

What happens after I submit my application?

Our team will review your information and contact you regarding the next steps. Make sure your contact information is accurate and that you respond to communications from SRTDI.

Will completing training guarantee me a job?

Completing a training program does not guarantee employment. However, SRTDI provides career-focused training and may provide employment resources and job-placement assistance to help students prepare for opportunities in the transportation industry.

I’m not sure which CDL program is right for me. What should I do?

That’s okay. Start with a conversation.

Our admissions team can help you understand the differences between available programs and determine which option aligns with your goals, schedule, and circumstances.
